Essential Detail Hotel Representation is a boutique hotel representation agency dedicated to independent, owner-managed hotels with a strong sense of place and purpose. We work closely with distinctive properties that value authenticity, thoughtful design, and sustainable practices, helping them connect with the right partners, markets, and opportunities while preserving what makes each hotel unique.

Owned and led by mother-and-daughter team Tracey and Megan Dyson, Essential Detail is built on decades of combined experience in hospitality, sales, and hotel representation. Together, Tracey and Megan bring a highly personal, hands-on approach, acting as a true extension of each hotel’s team rather than a traditional sales agency.

Tracey’s deep industry knowledge and long-standing relationships are complemented by Megan’s modern perspective, strategic insight, keen eye for detail and passion for sustainability and responsible tourism. Their shared commitment to environmental stewardship, community connection, and long-term hotel success underpins every partnership they take on.

Tracey Dyson

I come from a family with deep roots in the aviation industry, where travel has always played a central role in both our business and leisure lives. My sense of wanderlust was nurtured from an early age, and I was fortunate to begin exploring the world young. It felt entirely natural that this lifelong love of travel would shape my career, and working in the industry continues to fuel my passion every day.

What truly excites me is inspiring others to travel and bringing our properties to life through thoughtful storytelling and attention to detail. I love creating meaningful, memorable journeys that go beyond the beach, immersive experiences that connect guests to the culture, people, and communities of the destinations we represent. Giving back locally and supporting sustainable, community-led initiatives is always at the heart of what we do.

Outside of Essential Detail, my greatest commitment is to my family, who clearly share the travel gene and happily join us on adventures, whether that’s the Caribbean or Cornwall. I value the simple things in life, supporting those around me, and staying positive, though I’m also known for embracing a challenge and going above and beyond to find solutions.

I’m also a passionate supporter of women’s sport, particularly football, and take great pride in championing the Lionesses, celebrating teamwork, resilience, and ambition both on and off the pitch.

Megan Dyson

Travel has been a passion of mine from an early age, I developed such a love for the Caribbean after countless family holidays to Barbados and Saint Lucia. While travel has always been a huge part of my life, I never imagined I would one day follow in my Mum’s and Nan’s footsteps and turn it into a career. When the opportunity arose to join the family business, I knew that working alongside my mum would be both fun and challenging.

With a strong passion for creativity and organisation, my skills have played a key role in evolving the business. One of my biggest achievements has been building the company website from scratch, with plenty of determination and a few helpful tips from Google along the way. I’ve also loved rebranding Essential Detail and strengthening the company’s online presence and appearance within the travel trade.

Outside of Essential Detail, my partner and I are proud parents to our little boy, Theodore, who brings us so much joy and love. When I’m not planning our next adventure, you’ll find me spending quality time with family and friends, keeping active, adding the finishing touches to our home, and enjoying family activities. I love balancing my passion for travel with the simple comforts of home and making the most of everyday moments with my family.
